Project: Eliqs Beer Design

Role: Design • Illustrate

Tools: Adobe Ps • Adobe Ai

Eliqs personalized craft beer is a bar service & beverage start-up in Los Angeles, CA. Originally launched as a unique way to elevate an event through custom and beautiful can designs, Eliqs has evolved into something much more. They believe that craft beverages are more than just fun libations—they are the medium that bring people together in celebration.

I submitted my beer design to Eliqs during the Corona pandemic under the concept of "Fight Against COVID-19!" The message behind my design is to stay home and do what you love to stop spreading the virus. I illustrated a lady practicing her yoga. One of her hands is being washed while the other hand is holding a can of beer, ready to enjoy after finishing her routine.

I normally sketch my design before I start drawing digitally. For this project was slightly different, I didn't have a lot of time to work on it and I also already had the visual design in my mind so I jumped right into Adobe Illustrator to start working on my design. At first, I wasn't sure what the color scheme I should use, but I knew I wanted vibrant colors with nice contrast. I also used shapes and pen tool to draw a quick body yoga gesture.

The reason why I chose to illustrate a lady practicing her yoga was  because I have just started yoga a few months ago and I am in love with this! Yoga Is my new routine now. So I included the message along the top edge of the can "Stay home and practice what you love," to encourage everyone who are bored or doesn't feel motivated/productive staying at home. I wanted to give this beer label a little 90s design, that's why the lady is wearing a 90s workout outfit style with the headband. I used serif font to give it a little vintage feel and I use customized hand written fort to make it fun, playful, yet readable.
